Established more than 1,500 years ago and home to some 3,000 monks, the Shaolin Monastery lies nestled in the misty, mountainous jungles of central China.
“I had always wanted to go to a place where there’s a mix of physical and mental training,” Harsh Verma, 24, previously as a football player at AC Milan. Now as the first Indian warrior monk being accepted by Shaolin Temple, says on the question of why he chose Shaolin to get trained.
“Praying, training, medicine” as the three main principle for Shaolin, it brings Harsh Verma more things to digest and express through his days in Shaolin Temple.
